Invenergy, the third largest US-owned wind developer, has begun commercial operation at its 288.6MW Miami Wind Energy Center in the Texas Panhandle.

Located approximately eighty miles (128km) northeast of Amarillo, the facility utilizes 156 General Electric 1.85 MW wind turbines.

Miami is Invenergy’s first project in the Texas Panhandle, the nation’s hottest wind development region.

A full-time staff of 16 operates and maintains the wind farm.
