We believe clean energy is transforming the way we live and work — we are committed to conducting our business in a sustainable manner. By nature, clean energy demonstrates social responsibility. Our energy centers provide power while avoiding air pollution and improving public health. For us, we know we can do more. We enrich our communities economically, hire locally, and operate responsibly and sustainably. We also invest in organizations that share our passion in bettering communities.
At Invenergy, we believe being a responsible community partner isn’t just a nice thing to do, it is the right thing to do. In our host communities, we engage with and donate to organizations that support education, emergency medical services, veteran services, and environmental stewardship.
First responders, veteran organizations and schools near our energy centers know they can count on us for support. We not only provide financial assistance for the purchase of supplies and equipment, we also engage students of all ages in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) by offering tours and speaking to classes.
In the spring of 2015 we made a formal pledge through the Joining Forces initiative to hire military veterans for 10 percent of our company’s new hires.
Joining Forces is a veteran’s advocacy group, established by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden in 2011 to support veterans through education and employment opportunities in the private sector. Invenergy hiring managers continue to make a concerted effort to attract and hire qualified veterans for positions across the company.
“As a Navy veteran, now working in the solar and energy storage
industry, I am very proud to work for a company like Invenergy that is
committed to supporting our veterans and military spouses.”

At Invenergy, we are committed to hiring locally. Since 2015, more than 75% of employees hired to operate our new projects came from surrounding local communities.
Clean energy is critical to achieving environmental sustainability, and we are proud to play a role in tackling this challenge. Our commitment to sustainability can be seen not only in the clean energy projects we develop and operate, but also in all aspects of our business.
This commitment is based on our determination to create a better, more sustainable future for generations to come. Throughout the lifetime of our projects, we work with state and federal agencies, along with other interested stakeholders, to site, build and operate our facilities responsibly. Additionally, our Chicago and Denver offices are LEED certified, along with a majority of our Operations & Maintenance facilities.
